Christopher graduated from the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 1997. Before moving to Victoria and joining Cedar Hill Sports Therapy Clinic, Christopher gained valuable experience working with a variety of clients and musculoskeletal problems in Calgary, Whistler, and Vancouver. An accomplished competitive athlete in high school and university, Christopher carried his interest in athletics forward naturally to working as a sports massage therapist.

Today, Chris has the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients. While he enjoys working with athletes of the highest caliber, he is motivated to treat and engage with active-minded clients regardless of their physical goals. Christopher’s approach to treating the body is constantly evolving. An interest in attending ongoing professional courses keeps him challenged and up to date on new treatment techniques. Currently, he employs deep tissue release, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation) alongside myofascial and joint mobilisation techniques to achieve improved soft tissue balance and health in his clients.

Christopher and his wife Stephanie, a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, have travelled to Africa and Venezuela to provide volunteer services in rural, third world communities. Christopher has been terminally afflicted with “the travel bug” and, when not working, may be found indulging in the pursuit of happiness through windsurfing, kiteboarding and photography with Stephanie and their daughter, Shae, here on the Island and around the world.

She has devoted much of her practice to treating women’s health issues and has completed many specialized courses in the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for treating reproductive and pregnancy conditions. Stephanie obtained her fellowship with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) in 2009 and is one of eight Canadians holding this designation.

Passionate about working with women throughout their pregnancies, Stephanie has completed doula training as well as extensive TCM course work in obstetrics. During the years that she attended births, Stephanie integrated acupuncture and labour support in both home and hospital settings.

Stephanie has a strong background in treating musculoskeletal conditions and spent the first three years of her practice working at the Cedar Hill Sports Therapy Clinic. Stephanie is a past instructor at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, where she taught a course in blending both eastern and western sciences to treat sports injuries and soft tissue pathologies.

As a long-time practitioner of meditation and yoga, Stephanie threads mindfulness teachings into her treatment sessions. Along with maintaining a daily practice, she attends annual meditation retreats and meets weekly with a meditation group in her community. She has completed teacher training course work in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (with Jon Kabat-Zinn), Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting, Listening Mothers and Mindful Schools. As a parent, Stephanie is deeply moved and inspired to share the benefits of mindfulness with children, families and her community. She leads a weekly meditation group in Victoria called “Mindful Mamas”, 8 week MBSR courses for educators in local school districts and weekend workshops for birth preparation called “The Mind in Labour”. She also co-facilitates a Postpartum Mindfulness Group (MSP funded) in our Public Health Unit. Stephanie is a past board member with the BC Association of Living Mindfully (BCALM) and is passionate about leading presentations and supporting mindfulness initiatives in her community.

Harris began his study at the University of Calgary, completing a degree in religious studies and philosophy (having a strong focus in East Asian religions and Chinese language). He then moved to Victoria, British Columbia to absorb everything he possibly could from the five year doctor of Chinese Medicine program at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Harris then travelled to China, where he completed advanced study and internships at the Anhui University of TCM and the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated hospitals. Fueled by a passion that continues to grow, Harris actively learns from experts from around the world to further hone his skills.

His relentless search for knowledge paired with genuine compassion enables Harris to deliver a level of care that conveys expertise and support, free from any judgement or agenda. Each case is approached with enthusiasm and he tailors his treatment to work specifically with each client’s unique needs. In doing so, Harris cultivates a sense of trust and comfort that grows with each treatment.

Since originally joining the Elements of Health Centre in 2007, Harris has further developed his clinical expertise in the fields of women’s health, endocrine disorders, fertility, obstetrics, men’s health as well as supporting couples for assisted reproductive treatments (IVF, IUI) at various fertility clinics. He was involved at many levels of the development of the national licensing examinations for acupuncture and Chinese medicine as well as conducting program audits of all of the Chinese medicine schools within BC. Harris was a co-author and investigator on a pilot study validating the effects of acupuncture treatment for vulvar pain (Journal of Sexual Medicine). He is also involved in an ongoing trial verifying the stress reducing effects of acupuncture for IVF support (Fertility and Sterility) and he has acted as a consultant for a randomized control study to investigate the effects of acupuncture for the treatment of chemotherapy related peripheral neuropathy in cancer patients.

Brennan’s passion for massage therapy began with his journey into fatherhood. As a former stay-at-home dad married to a physiotherapist, Brennan spent countless hours visiting his wife at the local clinic where she worked. Here Brennan was exposed to stories of recovery, told both by clients and practitioners. He witnessed people enter a clinic injured, and through the hard work of a multidisciplinary staff he watched them recover from their injuries and return to their quality of life. Inspired by the healing journey that a practitioner travels with their clients, he decided to become a Registered Massage Therapist.

Now a father of two, Brennan is pleased to be working as an RMT in Victoria, BC. Through his current clinical practice he has had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of people from all walks of life. From weekend warriors and elite level athletes to those living with advanced medical conditions, Brennan will work with any type of client to help them achieve physiological peace and improve their quality of life.

In treatment, Brennan desires to build strong relationships with his clients, joining them on their journey to wellness. He applies a modern, evidence informed approach to traditional massage practices, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy. He is also a student of the meditative and martial arts of India and China, and he loves to integrate the practices of mindfulness, tai chi and qigong into his treatments.

Outside of the clinic, Brennan can be found playing with his children at the beach, contemplating a good read, or cooking up something delicious with his family and friends.
