Christopher graduated from the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 1997. Before moving to Victoria and joining Cedar Hill Sports Therapy Clinic, Christopher gained valuable experience working with a variety of clients and musculoskeletal problems in Calgary, Whistler, and Vancouver. An accomplished competitive athlete in high school and university, Christopher carried his interest in athletics forward naturally to working as a sports massage therapist.

Today, Chris has the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients. While he enjoys working with athletes of the highest caliber, he is motivated to treat and engage with active-minded clients regardless of their physical goals. Christopher’s approach to treating the body is constantly evolving. An interest in attending ongoing professional courses keeps him challenged and up to date on new treatment techniques. Currently, he employs deep tissue release, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation) alongside myofascial and joint mobilisation techniques to achieve improved soft tissue balance and health in his clients.

Christopher and his wife Stephanie, a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, have travelled to Africa and Venezuela to provide volunteer services in rural, third world communities. Christopher has been terminally afflicted with “the travel bug” and, when not working, may be found indulging in the pursuit of happiness through windsurfing, kiteboarding and photography with Stephanie and their daughter, Shae, here on the Island and around the world.

She has completed teacher training course work in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (with Jon Kabat-Zinn), Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting, Listening Mothers and Mindful Schools. Harris began his academic journey at the University of Calgary, earning a degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy with a strong focus on East Asian traditions and the Chinese language. His interest in Chinese medicine led him to Victoria, British Columbia, where he immersed himself in the five-year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Fuelled by curiosity and a deep respect for the tradition, Harris continued his studies in China, completing advanced clinical training and internships at the Anhui University of Chinese Medicine and the affiliated hospitals of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These formative experiences grounded his understanding in the classical theories and holistic principles that continue to guide his practice.

With a passion that grows year after year, Harris stays actively engaged in learning from respected teachers and colleagues around the world. His approach blends technical skill with genuine compassion. Each treatment is thoughtfully tailored to meet the individual needs of his patients, fostering a therapeutic environment that encourages meaningful clinical progress and allows healing and transformation to unfold naturally.

Since first joining the Elements of Health Centre in 2007, Harris has developed a clinical focus in reproductive and hormonal health, while also working extensively with complex and chronic conditions. His practice supports patients navigating fertility and assisted reproductive treatments (IVF, IUI), pelvic pain, vulvodynia and vestibulitis, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, menstrual irregularities, menopause, and autoimmune thyroid disorders. He also works with digestive concerns, prostatitis, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and stress-related conditions. Some of the individuals Harris treats are managing difficult-to-diagnose conditions or persistent patterns that haven’t responded to other forms of care. Drawing on the rich heritage of Classical Chinese medicine, Harris offers an holistic and individualized approach, providing new insights and therapeutic pathways that support lasting change.

In addition to his clinical work, Harris is deeply committed to the preservation and development of Chinese medicine. He has contributed extensively to the College of Chinese Health Professionals of British Columbia (CCHPBC), including work on national licensing exams, school program audits, and regulatory initiatives. His research experience includes a pilot study on acupuncture for vulvar pain (Journal of Sexual Medicine), a trial on acupuncture’s stress-reducing effects during IVF (Fertility and Sterility), and consultation on a randomized controlled study exploring acupuncture for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.

Outside the clinic, Harris enjoys life on the West Coast with his wife and son. Whether on a bike, board, boat, or trail, they take every opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature together.

I love what I do and I look forward to the opportunity to share it with you
